Download OpenFreebuds

Keep in mind that not all earphones are supported. Exact list can be found at GitHub of this project.

Requirements: Windows 10 or 11, at least from 2018 or newer, with compatible Bluetooth-adapter.

Download and run installer, and follow on-screen instructions:

If you can't install software on your PC, or just want to try OpenFreebuds without installation, you can grab portable version from link bellow. Note that this version will store all settings into same folder as you locate the executable, and do not rename executable file, otherwise it will store data in your system user profile.

Portable version is a bit experimental, use it with caution.

Software repositories (community-maintained):

Winget

Open PowerShell as administrator and run:

winget install MelianMiko.OpenFreebuds

Scoop

If you have scoop installed, run following commands to install OpenFreebuds:

scoop bucket add extras
scoop install openfreebuds

Notice: Some antiviruses may misdetect OpenFreebuds due to usage of Python and Pyinstaller. If so, exclude application from them, more details can be found here.

Recommended way is install it using Flatpak:

ArchLinux

Use yay or any other AUR-manager:

yay -S openfreebuds

Debian / Ubuntu

Run commands bellow to connect a repository and install OpenFreebuds from them:

curl -s https://deb.mmk.pw/setup | sudo bash -
sudo apt install openfreebuds

Tested distributions are Debian 12 (Bookworm), Ubuntu 24.04, Ubuntu 24.10.
